Duplicate username warning is now available (when manually creating employees)

Note: This feature is specially designed for those Ameego users that manually enter their employees. This does NOT apply to employees who are synced into Ameego via POS Match (imported from your POS system).

To begin, let’s understand how Ameego creates the usernames. When you create a new employee in Ameego, we automatically create a username from the full first name and first initial of the last name. For example, if you create a user Jordan White - the username will be JordanW.

If you have 2 employees (users) with the same username, this will cause login conflict for those users. Ameego has built in a warning for this issue to eliminate this problem. Read the 2 scenarios below to see how this works.

Scenario 1 - A profile for Jordan White has been deactivated in Ameego. You are not aware of this, and attempt to create a new profile for Jordan White.

Ameego will show you a warning message that you already have a similar user and displays the deactivated employee below this message. In this scenario you would reactivate the profile for Jordan White and then click the ‘OK, Cancel’ button.

Watch the demonstration of this scenario below to see how to resolve this issue.

Scenario 2 - You already have an active profile for Jordan White who has the username of JordanW. You attempt to create a new user with the name of Jordan Williams which will potentially create 2 users with the same username of JordanW.

Ameego will show you a warning message that you already have a similar user and will display the active profile for Jordan White (JordanW) under the warning message. In this scenario you would click the ‘Continue with Creation’ button to create the profile for Jordan Williams. Jordan Williams username will be modified to JordanWi - adding the second letter of the last name to distinguish the difference between the two similar profiles.

Watch the demonstration of this scenario below to see how to resolve this issue.
