Our new Advanced One Touch will allow you create schedules quickly and efficiently by importing your base floor plans and assigning shifts with the click of a button!
Ameego’s new Advanced One Touch is similar to our first version, but it will now be executed for each department group separately. This will allow managers to work independently on their schedules without affecting each other.
As usual a 3 week average forecast must be generated before any department group can be scheduled. Once the forecast has been calculated, each department group's labour card will display the ‘Advanced One Touch’ button if the base floor plans are assigned to the department groups settings (see below).
Follow these 3 simple steps to get started!
Step 1 - Review your Base Floor Plans
You will be required to assign a base floor plan to each day of the week in the department group settings. This would be a great time to review your base floor plans to ensure the accuracy of your scheduling. If you would like a refresher on managing base floor plans, click HERE to read our knowledge base document on the subject.
Step 2 - Department Group Settings
Follow the steps below to set up your department groups with your base floor plans as well as other important settings. Though the Advanced One Touch feature ONLY requires the base floor plan settings (step 9), the additional settings will apply to any new schedule moving forward. If you already have schedules started, you will have to manually add these settings to the labour card within the scheduled week.
- Navigate to the ‘People’ tab, then click the ‘Employee Manager’ sub tab.
- Click the ‘Manage’ button at the top of the list of departments.
- Click the ‘Edit’ button within a department group and edit the following settings as required.
- Sales Metric: The metric applied here will be used to calculate the projected and actual labour cost for this department group. Leaving this setting on ‘None’ will apply the default sales metric from your settings page (Net or Gross).
- Auto Publish Schedule: As mentioned before, One Touch will build your schedule for you automatically. If you wish to hold off on publishing until you have reviewed the schedule, then leave this setting at ‘OFF’ (default setting). Select ‘ON’ if you wish to auto publish the schedule without reviewing.
- Default Wage Multiplier: You can use this setting to account for some employee overhead costs by adding a multiplier to all of your hourly wages. ie - 1.04 will add 4% to all wages and apply to your projected labour. The default setting is 1.00.
- Default Fixed Labour: This is where you can enter a weekly fixed labour cost for the department group to accommodate salaries. This weekly amount entered here will be included in the actual and projected labour costs throughout Ameego.
- Default Labour Percent Goal: New! You can now add a labour cost percentage goal to a department group. If you add this, Ameego will show you comparisons to this goal throughout the scheduling pages. This is an optional setting.
- Default Floorplans: Add a base floor plan to each day of the week. As mentioned above, this is a required setting to enable the enhancement of Advanced One Touch Scheduling.
- Click the ‘Save Changes’ button to save all settings.
Once you have completed the above setup, you will see a new ‘Advanced One Touch’ button within the department group(s) that you edited in any new scheduling week (after you calculate a forecast).
As mentioned above, clicking the ‘Advanced One Touch’ button will import your base floor plans for each day of the week and assign the shifts to your employees using the built in One Touch shift assignment metrics (see below). All you have to do now is review your schedule, make adjustments if required and publish!
Clearing the Week
Once you have executed ‘Advanced One Touch’ the button will now display ‘Clear Week’. If you need to start over, simply click that button. This will unassign all of the shifts and clear the base floor plan assignment for each day of the week.
Please note: You will not be able to do this if you have already published the departments in the department group. You will need to go into the schedule and unpublish the departments in order to use ‘Clear Week’.
One Touch Shift Assignment
Here is a list of the metrics and settings that One Touch uses to assign shifts to your employees. The results that you get from One Touch will depend on the detail of your employee and platform settings. Here are the areas of setup that One Touch uses to assign the shifts to your employees:

-
Global Settings: Minimum shift gap
- One Touch will not assign a shift less than the hours set in the minimum shift gap
-
Employee Profile: Departments assigned to employee
- One Touch will only assign a shift to an employee that has the shifts department in their profile
-
Employee Profile: Badges assigned to employee
- If the shift contains a badge, One Touch will only assign that shift to an employee who has the shifts badge assign in their profile
-
Employee Profile: Employee availability
- One Touch will not assign a shift to an employee if the start or end time of the shift falls outside of their availability
-
Employee Profile: Min/Max hours setting

Employee Profile: Overtime Exempt setting
- One Touch will only assign a shift that will incur overtime if the employee has the overtime exempt flag checked in their profile

- One Touch will not assign a shift to an employee if they have an approved book off on the day of the shift. If the book off has a specified time frame, this will be observed and allowed if possible
